Apple Bingo

Each year Apple pulls out all stops with a highly-scripted event to announce their new iPhones and try to convince us to trade up. This year’s phone event is next Tuesday at 10 am Pacific Time. You can watch it live on Apple’s Website and on some of the tech blogs. Apple named the event “Awe Dropping,” whatever that means – maybe something aesthetically-related such as a thinner phone?

It’s becoming a much tougher job for Tim Cook and his executives to convince us to upgrade, because improvements have become more incremental every year. The one exception, of course, is AI, where Apple is way behind their competitors, especially when compared to the new Google Pixel 10 Pro phones just announced. (The Verge has a particularly good review of some of the AI magic the Pixel phones can do.) AI will be the industry’s focus at this meeting, and it will be interesting to see if Apple makes a big announcement about AI or tries to deflect us with less important items.

Speaking of less important items, here’s your Apple Bingo card to print out and use during the keynote presentations. See how much of the card you can fill in, as each of these words are mentioned. If history is any indication, the more squares you cover, the less the innovation.
